A survey by American Express
last shopping season showed that for the first time, more than half (54
percent) of Americans shopped over the Web. That's an increase from 46 percent
in 04 year and 42 percent the year before.
The American Express survey
also found that Internet users buy more gifts than offline shoppers and spent
on average of $1,082 for gifts last year.
That’s roughly 11 percent more than offline shoppers. Analysts say that businesses without an
